Coro Gospel de Cuba
The project
Since March 2018, the project has been intensively prepared under the umbrella of the Cuban Council of Churches (Consejo de Iglesias de Cuba - CIC). A national casting call was successfully held in early 2019. Deborah Woodson (Cologne and USA) could be won for the musical work. The result of an intensive preparation is the CORO GOSPEL DE CUBA.
15,000 people witnessed the world premiere of Cuba's first gospel choir on June 22, 2019 in Dortmund at the German Protestant Church Congress. During the subsequent concert tour through Germany, the choir enthused in all places.
In close cooperation between Cuban musicians, authors, arrangers, singers and international gospel experts, gospel songs are now being newly developed and interpreted in Cuban.
An exciting process. The first steps have been taken.
